Even if the BIM system reduces many of the unpleasant surprises during the construction process, the system is far to be perfect. Setin, developed two additional workflows to obtain a view of what will be built, including all the details that are often complex to understand through drawings and avoiding so doubts and errors arising during construction.

Starting from Autodesk Revit and BIM models and navigating through Autodesk 3DS Max and the application Augment, we can create high quality and easily usable AR models to obtain a real sense of the space. Using a tablet/mobile we can position our project on-site (or even on a desk) and dive into the projects. To fully appreciate an immersive and large-scale 3D environment, we can switch to a hardware device like Microsoft Hololens glasses.

An immersive technology workflow concerning VR also was developed, likewise starting from BIM data. The complete BIM model, including all the information and object properties, is rendered and converted using Unreal Engine or Unity software packages. That means that we can create an extremely high quality 4K three-dimensional immersive scenario in which we can dive using the best VR glasses in the market: Oculus Quest and HTC Cosmos. Note, that you can access BIM data just by touching the object into a 3d world, so you are exploring an immersive dynamic database.
