MACCHIA DELLE COSTE

Executive design of the safety of the “Macchia delle Coste” in the Municipality of Anguillara Sabazia (RM).

The project covers the area of 15,131 hectares and presents articulated interventions aimed at achieving two fundamental objectives :

• Intercept upstream water inflow (through the installation of drainage trenches, leaking wells and debris barriers on ditches)
• To protect dwellings and the valley road with forestry measures and with the installation of the rockfall barrier

It was possible to divide the project into three functional Excerpts:

• First functional excerpt: Execution of drainage trenches, leaking wells, wooden fence and debris barriers on ditches) in the area affected by the areas subject to protection for the danger of landslide and flood
• Second functional excerpt: Execution of forest interventions, rock-breaking, installation of rockfall and restoration of the path to the mid-shore.
• Third functional excerpt: Execution of drainage trenches, leaking wells, wooden fence and debris barriers on ditches) in the upstream area excluded in the first excerpt.
