Invasive Alien Species (IAS) are the greatest threat to biodiversity in the Pacific Islands, contributing to the loss of native species including endemics and traditional varieties of crops, and impacting on food security and tourism. Moreover, the threat has increased as island nations develop, resulting in greater mobility among people, goods, and supplies. In this framework, the GEF is going to finance this project, to safeguard biodiversity and contribute to human well-being. Giacomo is one of the project designers.
